The hosts of the group are:

Jennifer Gutierrez

Giselle Tejeda: I’m 19 years old and a BT survivor, from the Dominican Republic/Venezuela. I was diagnosed with a Hemangioblastoma in October 29 of 2001 in the Dominican Republic. I had 2 surgeries, both done by Dr Peter Black at Boston Children’s Hospital. I love to listen to music, use the computer and help the people when I able to do it. Because of the surgery now I cannot walk by myself, I have a trach, I see double, I cannot swallow, so I have to take everything through my GJ tube and I cannot write very well either. Also, because of the tumor I lost 2 yrs of school, so I’m still attending to the High School in Wayland MA. In which I have to have a special nurse with me all the time. My speech was affected by the surgeries as well. After a lot of hard work I can talk again but still people who don’t know me have difficulty understanding me and I feel insecure especially when I speak in English.
